When I first met Dylan, I knew immediately that I was in the right hands as a first time owner. His communication was exceptional from the start and still is 2 years later whenever a new question arises. Upon arrival, I noticed the cleanliness of the kennels (as they always were each time I visited) and the welcoming he showed me and the pup. I never planned on hunting with Mav (Labrador Retriever) when I first got him but we took a chance to see. I’ll never forget the day Dylan said “you’ve got yourself a gun dog” and Mav now hunts quail, pheasant, dove, geese, and ducks while also occasionally helping guide pheasant shoots. Dylan took on the Goofy dog and created more memories for me and my family than I ever imagined.

Diamond Bird Dogs helped my brittany become one heck of a bird dog. When he points, he is locked in. The intensity is something special. And, while I could never get him interested in retrieving, Dylan has him retrieving like a pro.

From working with my dog a bit before I took him to Dylan, I know that he was a difficult combination of hard headed and very sensitive to correction. He wanted to do what he pleased, but got his feelings hurt easily. Training him required a delicate balance of discipline (far more so than Labradors I have owned who take corrections like it didn’t bother them). With the brittany, you had to make your point, but you couldn’t be too harsh (even with your tone), or he sulked.

Diamond Bird Dogs found the right balance. Now, he is a pointing machine, and hunts with passion, urgency and intensity. He responds quickly to commands, and just does everything I want in a quail dog.

The affection my dog has for his trainers makes it clear that they have developed a solid bond. Dylan clearly enjoys working with all the dogs, and their time with him is well spent. He frequently posts short videos of the dogs he is working with, which my wife greatly appreciated (I did too). And, he calls every weekend to discuss progress and generally keep you informed.

I can’t say enough good things about Diamond Bird Dogs. My dog is back there now for a fall brush up to get ready for season. I would recommend Diamond Bird Dogs for any sort of quail dog, and I plan on them training my next Labrador pup too.

There are so many wonderful things to be said about Diamond Bird Dogs. We had several phone conversations with Dylan before ever meeting him in person and knew right away he knew what he was doing. Mocha being a Boykin spaniel, and known for their stubbornness, we also knew he would have his hands full. However, with Dylan’s experience with Boykins it felt like the right fit. When we first dropped Mocha off for 3 months of training, he sent us a picture of Mocha already sitting in his lap bonding with him within 15 minutes of us leaving and that immediately let us know she was going to be just fine. Dylan’s personality, mild mannerism, knowledge, and his overall love of what he does makes Diamond Birds Dogs who they are. We were able to pick Mocha up for a couple of weeks while Dylan was out of town and could tell she is already getting the hang of her training and using it. We are so happy that we chose Diamond Birds Dogs!!

We live in Tampa, FL and drove 8 hours to choose our puppy after just speaking with Dylan a few times on the phone. We drove back to pick her up and drove to drop her off and pick her up for training two additional times. There is no one else who can provide the love and results that you get at Diamond Bird Dogs. There just are not enough good things we can say! If you are searching for an outstanding puppy, look no further. Diamond Bird Dogs and the owner Dylan are hands down the best. When my dog came back from another trainer gun shy, Dylan took on the challenge, and man he succeeded. Patience and persistence paid off and my lab gets fired up when she sees the shotgun and doesn’t cower like before. However, the best quality is that Dylan genuinely loves dogs and brings out the best in them.

There are not enough words to describe how great of a breeder and handler Dylan and his team are. I got my first GSP (a female named Sheena) from him in 2023 and Dylan has always been available for questions, offered insight, and more than happy to hear about a dog that came from him. His breeding practices are the best I’ve seen and he strives to ensure the dogs he breeds have not only the hunting qualities one could hope for but also the qualities of a loving dog who can become a part of the family. In addition to getting Sheena from him, I trained her at home for the first year and then sent her to Dylan for 3 months of training. When I dropped her off she was already exposed to some hunting and had most obedience training down, however when I picked her up 3 months later, Dylan gave me back a dog that was completely different. I thought she was good before dropping her off and upon her return she was so much better to the point I’ve called Dylan several times to express how happy I am with what he did. After a year back with me, I am more than excited to send her back for a month of “mini-camp” prior to the 2025 season.

Dylan and his crew have done a superb job training my yellow lab, Scout. She’s the best trained dog I’ve ever had. I’m very happy with the training and the value of my investment. I’d highly recommend Diamond Bird Dogs!
